Artist Mary Shobe
(Acrylic - Pen and Ink -
Oils - Color Pencil - Digital Art - Scratchboard -
Watercolor)
- Following a childhood
dream of learning to paint, I received my first Art lessons
in the fall of 1999, taking a basic drawing/painting class
in acrylics from Artist Vivian Edwards. As an amateur
photographer, I learned that the ability to see a good
picture also allowed me to be able to recreate a good
picture from Pen and Ink. With my teacher as my mentor, she
encouraged me to continue learning to use Pen and Ink as my
main media. Since Pen and Ink and Watercolor work well
together, I naturally progressed into doing watercolor
paintings. With Vivian encouraging me to try different
techniques I have now advanced into Color Pencil and
Scratchboard. My desire is to become a better painter and
learn more of the basics in painting. Mary's work is on display at
The Farmhouse Gallery, Main St., Walhalla, SC.,
Peterson
Photography Studio,
Pendleton, SC,
hArtworks,
Main St., Walhalla, SC and
Strickland Fine Art, Anderson, SC.
